I just bought two 7U cases. One of them has a power switch that works, but does not fully „lock“ into the ON position. Only a slight touch will move it back to OFF.
The other case‘s switch is fine and needs the expected amount of force to turn it back off.
In the video (link above) the case in front is fine, the one in the back has the flimsy switch.
Is this within the expected tolerance for how these switches work?
I‘m afraid that the case might turn off unexpectedly…
I can still return it to the shop and am wondering if that’s the best thing to do.
Or is there a way to modifiy the switch so it will be more reliable?
We have never had a failed power switch. They are made by Cherry and super reliable.
However if this one does not feel right we can definitely arrange a replacement. The power cables for it slide on (friction fit) and the switch snaps into place so it should be relatively easy for a user to replace if needed.
As aforementioned if you contact support they will be happy to arrange sending you a replacement part to try.
No sense in spending money and wasting HP when the case is still under warranty. Even if it wasn’t, he could always buy the switch from a parts store - it would be a lot cheaper, and again, not waste HP.
Any idea if this is still a possibility? would love to see an 84hp version!
I have a 7u 84hp performance case but am interested in lightly expanding it
Two .5U rows - top row has two pair audio jacks, MIDI in/out/thru, and USB power, while the bottom row (bottom of the case) has mults, unity mixer, etc.
Move the 1U row to the bottom
Planar2 aside, 2 and 3 would minimize the number of patch cables crossing over module controls.
I’d be curious to see a 104HP palette. I’m thinking of getting into modular with an Intellijel case, but the 7U is a bit too pricey and the current palette is a bit too small. A 104 palette seems like the Goldilocks zone for me.
I’d like to see an 84hp version of the palette. Which gives you that little extra space needed while keeping things in a relatively compact format. With the desktop format of synths, samplers and grooveboxes becoming so popular, as of late, I think the 84hp format may be reconsidered. I agree with everything in post 51 but I’d also add an optional, external linear power supply for studio use.
I love my 7U case but wish it was deeper. I can’t really lay out my rack the way I’d prefer due to the depth of a few modules.
Problem two is I’m out of room! A much wider 7U would be so welcome from me, but I don’t know if there’s any real demand. Seems like most are wanting to go smaller
I’d love to see an 84hp palette too, or perhaps one with two rows of 1U, one at the top and the other at the bottom, instead of one. Would like to not take up any of the main space with basic utilities if possible, and that little extra depth wouldn’t make it significantly larger.
I’m trying to decide whether to do this, or to just save for a MLDR 10u square, or get a 9u wooden non-portable case, or just wait and see (something I’m not good at) if there is an Intellijel 10u at some point.
I think a larger main case 104hp at 9u or 12u that is not necessarily portable, plus a smaller case for travel/gigs/holidays (I have a palette at 62hp, but I’d also love an 84hp option) is where it’s at for me.
Works for me for desktop gear too, I have 5-6 boxes, but sometimes travel with just an Octatrack & Rytm and have the most fun then if I’m honest.
Looking for mounting advice for 7u 104hp case. I want to hold it securely in a vertical position on a shelf between speakers (sorry Buddha). I saw the comments about guitar amp stands but I worry those would slip off the shelf which isn’t that deep and has a gap behind.
Something like an oversized iPad clamp/stand perhaps.
Alternatively something pretty heavy and the same size, plus some pedalboard velcro
