1U modules wishlist

According to the original thread on Scales 1U, it is not likely due to space.

uh-oh!!! you better be quick, Intellijel!

we are not worried

I was actually thinking about this again last night.
I’d really love to see a dual channel tile that could be stereo linked or run as 2 seperate channels.

Thinking of something more simpler (without clk & rst, it would mean timestretch recording)
but 2 track  24HP and taken your idea with lit record button.

Putting simple indicator on the ui of which sample is played on which track.

Designing module isnt easy XD

Some ideas for CV in mode…

Clockable Sampler 1U (2)

What about a 1U uSlew?

There’s a slew in Noise Tools 1U. But I definitely +1 for a dedicated (dual?) slew in 1U. Maybe one of the two could be gated?

Always looking to add slew to stuff so I feel like having a dedicated mini would be a welcome addition. Noise Tools rules but always could use more slew! :sunglasses:

Amazing. Great work.

And now I’ll probably spend too much time designing fake intellijel modules.

A smal utilitys that make Trs A to Trs B and vise versa like XY utility.
A small 1U clock module with clock reset in or one Puch knob to set bpm and 6-8 outputs to sett div or multi Big like zeroscope+USB. This with extremly low jitter and rock stedy. And somthing to make quanti offset like push button and knob and scroll to taste. Nice of there is extra modules to glue together for outboard hardware midi in and trs jacks on that

I have already started to build my 3,2x1U case  working on to have more modules on the back and front and patchbays on the side nice with tendrils cables  and parchans outboard gears and lite keystep pro ect to save space and make upp for cleaner patching  Will se how it Will end. I think this is going to be the hubb between 7U case.

Hi All—My first post!

I’ve been thinking about putting a headphone out in my 104hp palette so I can sketch and build sequences and songs on the couch, and it dawned on me how handy it would be to be able to go wireless. Is a Bluetooth headphone module possible in 1u? Then the plate would just need 2x input jacks and 1 knob for volume attenuation. No idea how much space the Bluetooth electronics require, though.

Anyways…would others find this handy?

I was pretty sure this had been mentioned before, but I couldn’t find anything from a couple quick searches. What about a fixed filter bank? I’m thinking it would be all jacks, 2 inputs with the first normalled to the second, then 6 - 8 outputs each with a bandpass output at a fixed set frequency. In 1 would feed the top row and In 2 the bottom.

Then the question is: Which frequencies would be the best to feature?
For example, the Moog 907 used 250Hz, 350Hz, 500Hz, 700Hz, 1000Hz, 1400Hz, 2000Hz, 2800Hz.
The Moog 914 added 125Hz, 175Hz, 4000Hz, and 5600Hz.
The MakeNoise FxDf uses odd frequencies of 198Hz, 373Hz, 692Hz, and 1411Hz, but adds a high pass at 3000Hz and low pass at 78Hz which could also be useful.

Maybe a low pass at 125Hz, then bandpasses at 250Hz, 500Hz, 1000Hz, 2000Hz, and a Highpass at 4000Hz? Or is that too octavey? Maybe if it’s possible, a master tuning control to offset the whole bank up or down to make it less fixed?

Curious to hear what people think about this one!

I’d love a fixed filter bank, as long as it fits in 14hp. That’s all the 1u space I’ve got left, and it looks like it’s becoming the standard width for intellijel 1u tiles.

Reflecting off that idea, alternatively two things I’d love to see is an all-pass filter (phase offsets signals above the cutoff by 180º, that is, it inverts the highs, but the signals just around the cutoff are phase-shifted by 90º, like in quadrature). It can add some interesting timbral effects, especially when you have two of them. It’s also great for mid-side work.

Another thing that would be cool is an envelope follower. Sure, there’s like a million out there already, but not one of them that I know of also has a pitch tracker.

This could be great and handy, perhaps there could even be a very slight amount of resonance. Would be great for feedback patches, inserting into delay/spring reverb send/return, etc.

I’d be very interested in a 1U fixed filter bank. Great idea.

I don’t know if this is realistic from a PCB design perspective, but could it be possible to use a jumper to select between two arrays of frequencies that have different characters?

Here’s a ModularGrid rack with most of the currently available fixed filter banks: FFBs - Eurorack Modular System from n0vim on ModularGrid

I’m a noob at filter bank, but I’ve been curious about Verbos Electronics’s ones in that it uses Bark scale, which I had never heard before. While, honestly, I don’t know how much this matters on the sound (Verbos’s modules are always too good!), I wonder if there are any other scales that can be musically interesting.

Howzabout a 1U +5 Adder so we can turn all the bipolar LFOs (from Dixies, Osc, Etc) in unipolar ones (as well as other uses of course). Ins and outs only, maybe similar-ish in looks to the 1U Mults. Maybe 4 in and 4 outs with inputs being normal’d down the line. :v:
