Stereo Line Out 1U (system)

@Danjel Thank you thank you thank you for making this configuration possible - even on a 1st gen 7u case - without requiring the space taken up by the inputs on the Audio I/O or the extra jacks for the Pedal I/O. I chimed in on both of those requests, and really appreciate you responding to the customer feedback. Time for my modular to meet my moogerfoogers!

Looks good! Glad this is working well for you. Lot’s more new and useful 1U modules on the way…

Danjel, what voltage does the input level indicators come on?

Awesome! Also gulp my wallet gulp I’m already out of 1U space

We have a video on this guy now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1h6Mc791aMc

wait there is a v2 headphone tile now? when did that happen?

Can you connect the 1u line out to the headphone out or vice versa? I’d like to have both.

If not is there another way to get line out and headphone out in one 1u?

The Stereo Line Out 1U connects to the Headphones 1U (as long as you have the most recent v2 version), but the Line Out 1U does not connect to anything.

I have a palette and a 1U Stereo Line Out. If I get a 1U Headphone out it sounds like I can connect it to the Headphone out. What about the two built in jacks can the line connect to these and still support the headphone Out?

I’m curious about this myself. Can we have the 1U Stereo Line Out connected to the headphones 1U via 3-pin cable, and also connected to the output jacks via the 6-pin cable?

Yes, this is the designed intent and you can see it demonstrated at about the 1min mark in the video.

Sweet! You guys pack a lot of info into 2 minutes so I’m not surprised I missed it. Thanks for confirming!

Silly thought, but is it possible to use it to send CV to non-modular synths, such as Moog?

I have a 7U case and the Stereo Line Out 1U but not the Headphone Out 1U (all currently sold out everywhere I looked in Canada).

I tried using a breakout cable (dual, male 1/4" to female 1/4") from the two output jacks on the back of the 7U to connect my headphones (Beyerdynamic DT770) to the system. I get sound, but not stereo. It’s being summed to mono. For example, all of Rings’ strums are at centre instead of being panned.

It might be that my breakout cable was not designed for this–might need to pick another one up.

But I wanted to check: will the Stereo Line Out 1U System support this kind of stereo signal flow: Modular–>Stereo Line Out–>7U Out Jacks–>Breakout Cable–>Headphones

I think your breakout cable is probably functioning like a headphone splitter and the left and right are being summed to create a dual mono signal.

You might need something more like a mixer or audio interface, or a more custom cable to be able to separate the left and right.

I got one of these and was pleasantly surprised to find you can use 2 of them in the 7u case, connecting the second to the case inputs to make 4 outs. That’s gonna work nice with quadratt as a mixer and 4 Octatrack inputs!

Do you experience any Hiss with the Stereo Line Out 1U?

I haven’t, but noise issues like hisses can often be caused by power issues like ground loops, unbalanced cables, particular modules, or other gremlins.

Has anyone ever experienced clipping when sending some signals into their 1u stereo outs module?

Hi, I am trying to find the best solution to attenuate a stereo signal from a Rainmaker in a palette into the 4th channel of a Mixup In a different case. I’m wondering if this is a solution. Is the signal still reduced with the pot all the way open? Will the balanced output be an issue? I’m not great with this sort of stuff. Thanks!
