So apparently Cycle-GAN is used for images and requires an extensive AI neural network but it is a very cool concept. @Cylonix how do you plan to do this? I am very interested, even as a stand-alone module.
Here’s what I found:
So basically you can change a picture of a horse into a zebra and back, or swap apples and oranges, etc. How will this apply to synthesis for audio? I don’t really know.
I bought the shapeshifter.
What a module! Dont need no update as far as im concerned, the screen has a lovely C64 vibe to it, and it sounds better or as good as other digital modules.

For some reason I can’t edit my previous reply about cycle-gan used for audio but I found something about it.
I would love to have this in a module. Because of the way this particular ai works, it’s always learning and would be able to adapt to my personal style and sound preferences. Would be SO COOL!
I would buy that as a stand-alone module as a wave shaper or oscillator. Like the idea!

pretty hyped on Shapeshifter (as is) … apologies for the quasi-necro bump. just wondering if there’s anything on the horizon (if anyone can say anything), as i’m on the fence about purchasing a Ss. Mylarmelodies’ demos of the module are fantastic, and the recent release of the Metropolix has got me wondering what an updated Shapeshifter could look like.
Don’t be, I had not come across this thread before and it’s great reading all the old comments. I did not know that Shapeshifter was the successor to the cycle box! Really interesting evolution.

alright, i’m ready to pull the trigger on a used Shapeshifter. just wanted to check one last time before doing it… just in case there’s something in the pipeline, or going to be announced this year. any info is appreciated
If it’s anything like my experience with the Metropolis, then the Shapeshift successor will get released a few weeks from now, as I have just purchased a 2nd hand Shapeshifter.
For context, I bought a Metropolis and a few weeks later Metropolix was out. Luckily I managed to sell on the previous incarnation and now enjoy the Metropolix even more - still so much to learn on it!
No Shapeshifter 2 just around the corner, I promise 
Shapeshifter is still an attractive VCO to me in July 2021. Looks like stock has dried up and prices are starting to rise. Is there a restock on the horizon?
ICYMI the b-stock deal on Shapeshifter is pretty sweet and still looks available. Could be a good option, if no news is forthcoming,
I noticed that and assumed it was the earlier version with the older faceplate, I’ll email them now to check it out. I did buy a module this way in the past and it was like new. Thanks for the reminder!
I might be buying a Shapeshifter, and I noticed one very small difference between the photos of the unit for sale and all the other photos on the internet:
Intellijel, any info on why the Morph labels look different on this unit? Every unit online (with the Cylonix logo on the bottom) has this:
Everything else about the panels looks the same…?
They’re just different panels
So I didn’t end up getting that second-hand unit. Any word on when SS might be back on store shelves?
