Hi! I recently got hold of a planar 2 off the used market, and the joystick feels broken to me. Its mounted vertically, and the joystick visibly drifts down with gravity when i let it go in a specific zone. Is that normal? Can it be fixed?
Also when I move the joystick around, I get a mild knocking haptic feedback from the stick, as if the ball wasn’t firmly rotating in place. It doesn’t feel like the descriptions of ‘smooth’ and ‘precise’ that I read online about it. Can anyone with this module share their experience of what the joystick feels like?
Hey,
if the joystick is mounted vertically, it will likely drift downward I think. I would try and mount it to a horizontal place.
There however shouldn’t be any knocking or scrapping if it is working properly.

You can apply GR-I Grease to locations A to G:
A Ball part
B E ring and aluminum shaft part
C Aluminum shaft and connecting plate part
D E ring and aluminum shaft part
E Aluminum shaft and connecting plate part
F Ball part
G Lever shaft and connecting plate part
