Anyone here get that new Rossum Assimil8or Locutus midi expander?
Of course the first thing I thought of was “oooooh would the Assimil8or’s new midi firmware work with the Intellijel Case MIDI ports instead of the Locutus?!??”. Always want to support the companies but it is very pricey for a midi expander, especially when the Intellijel cases have all the same ports + usb.
It’s such a stellar sample module and guessing there’s a few of us here that have both the case and the module.

Good question. I see the Rossum expander comes with a special cable to attach direct to the CPU on the Assimil8or so assume you would have to fashion a similar connector somehow. If that were achieved I expect it is just sending and receiving MIDI so probably would work

You’d need to get a look at the back of the Locutus module to see if it has the optoisolator for MIDI in - the IJ case MIDI port doesn’t have any of that circuitry, so it would need to be replicated somehow.
